Apparently, the President is pulling more resources for his own safety as the protests swarm to the doorsteps of the White House in the midst of the nationwide protests propagating since the death of George Floyd last week.
In a tweet, he has officially warned all those who might want to try to enter, facing them with much stronger verbiage.
‘Great job last night at the White House by the U.
S.
@SecretService. They were not only totally professional, but very cool,’ Trump tweeted, ‘I was inside, watched every move, and couldn’t have felt more safe. They let the “protesters” scream & rant as much as they wanted, but whenever someone got too frisky or out of line, they would quickly come down on them, hard – didn’t know what hit them. The front line was replaced with fresh agents, like magic.
Big crowd, professionally organized, but nobody came close to breaching the fence. If they had they would have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen. That’s when people would have been really badly hurt, at least.
Many Secret Service agents just waiting for action,’ he said.Trump continued: ‘“We put the young ones on the front line, sir, they love it, and good practice.
” As you saw last night, they were very cool & very professional.
Never let it get out of hand. Thank you! On the bad side, the D. C. Mayor, @MurielBowser, who is always looking for money & help, wouldn’t let the D. C. Police get involved.“Not their job.
” Nice!’ he concluded. The police and the Secret Service have been placed over the White House promontories since dozens of protesters grouped themselves across the presidential residence and stationed themselves at the street in Lafayette Square.
The protesters chanted ‘I can’t breathe’.
The crowd was seen in conflict with the said agents during the course of the night, observed in trying to overcome the barricades encapsulating the residence. Hundreds have been estimated to have gathered outside on that very day to make their voices heard, as media spotlights were centered on this particular site. The protests are still continuing with no sign of relenting as the police officer involved in the incident, Derek Chuvin, have been effectively fired from the Minneapolis Police Department and charged by prosecutors on thrid-degree murder and manslaughter
