The fighter and UFC multiple champion Conor McGregor has shocked the UFC socialites and fans across the world with his breaking announcement on Twitter, saying that he will retire from fighting altogether in the bright peak age of 31.
The Irish fighter and controversial figure posted a Twitter post on Sunday morning with the following statement: ‘Hey guys I’ve decided to retire from fighting. Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been! Here is a picture of myself and my mother in Las Vegas post one of my World title wins! Pick the home of your dreams Mags I love you! Whatever you desire it’s yours.’
This is a setback to fans and related fighters altogether as ‘The Notorious One’ – so named because of his prodigious skills as well as more than erratic antics and behaviours on statge – was set to fight another UFC legend Anderson Silva, Jorge Masvidal and Khabib Nurmagomedov, his character anti-hero in this year alone.
This is, however, not the first time that the egregious fighter has set off a false alarm with these sorts of announcements and shock therapy, as his track records show that he has retired and then renounced himself later on.
That was back in March last year, coming back 12 months later. His most recent return had been in January at the octagon, seamlessly knocking Donald Cerrone out in 40 seconds at the welterweight match at UFC 246.
Considering the antic-loving champion have been infamous for tricking his fans back in 2016 as well, the fans and related socialites are reserving their sentiments for now, waiting to see if the public figure would again renounce the statements later on.
He had lost a match with Nate Diaz during that period.
Indeed, the one who have been waited by spectators all around, Anderson Silva, the prospective champion against the Irishman has cleared his position for now:‘I talked about my super fight with Conor, and I’m starting to cut my weight,’ Silva said.
‘And for no excuse and for everybody talking about, ‘Oh but Anderson don’t take the weight and blah blah blah.
Ok, I start training and I’m ready for that. Conor ready too. And it’s a one thing, just Dana White, I need to make this fight real.Let’s go see.
