Kanye West postponed his ‘Donda: With Child’ album after rival Taylor Swift released her 8th album, Folklore on the rapper’s scheduled release date.
The 30-year-old songstress announced on Thursday that she would release her new album at midnight while Kanye’s was scheduled on Friday.
Days before the release of Donda, the 43-year-old rapper had taken to social media to promote his new album.
But Taylor stunned her fans around the world when she revealed that she would drop her new album, consisting of 16 songs written during lockdown.
Swifties praised the singer for the ‘masterpiece’ while Kanye’s fans were outraged as he did not release his new album as promoted.
The rapper’s 10th studio album is a tribute to his late mother, Donda West, who passed away 13 years ago. It will include New Body, which saw Kanye collaborate with Ty Dollar $ign and Nicki Minaj.
Kanye and Taylor have had a decade-long feud filled with cryptic lyrics, apologies, and snake emojis.
It all started in 2009 when Taylor accepted the Best Female Video award for her hit song You Belong with Me at the MTV Video Awards and Kanye jumped on the stage.
He took over the mic and said: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’mma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!”
But fears have grown over Kayne’s mental health after his election campaign in South Carolina where he revealed that he and Kim had wanted to abort their first child before breaking down in tears.
The incident was followed by a series of deleted tweets in which he said that he had been ‘trying to get divorced’ and accused Kim of trying to ‘lock him up.’
Kim took to Instagram to address the rapper’s bipolar battle, explaining her family ‘is powerless.’ She also added that her husband is ‘brilliant but complicated.’
