Two students have spoken out and claimed they got suspended from their school after sharing photos and videos showing crowded hallways and lack of coronavirus safety measures at their school.

One of the students that spoke to BuzzFeed News is 15-year-old Hannah from Georgia who told the outlet that she’s been suspended from North Paulding High School for five days after sharing one video and one photo on Twitter.

“Day two at North Paulding High School. It is just as bad. We were stopped because it was jammed. We are close enough to the point where I got pushed multiple go to second block. This is not ok. Not to mention the 10% mask rate,” Hannah wrote in the caption accompanying her photo.

As seen in the student’s photos, social distancing is not being observed whereas many of the students are not wearing face masks.

After sharing the photos online, Hannah was allegedly accused of violating the school’s code of conduct and suspended.

“The policies I broke stated that I used my phone in the hallway without permission, used my phone for social media, and posting pictures of minors without consent,” she explained according to BuzzFeed News.

Meanwhile, another student, who chose to remain anonymous, told the outlet that they too got suspended for sharing photos from the school on social media.

Previously, on Wednesday, the school’s principal allegedly spoke out in an intercom announcement and warned students that they could face punishment if they are found criticizing the school online.

As Hannah explained, however, she merely wanted to raise awareness about her school’s lack of safety measures upon reopening.

“Not only did they open, but they have not been safe. Many people are not following CDC guidelines because the county did not make these precautions mandatory,” she told BuzzFeed News.
