Rapper Offset was handcuffed by the police as officers detained him during a rally in Beverly Hills.
According to the reports, the 28-year-old Ric Flair Drip hitmaker was driving through the Californian city together with his wife, Cardi B, when he was pulled over.
In a live video taken by the rap star, Offset initially refused to put his hands up and step out of his car while being questioned by the officers.
As the police told the 28-year-old, there was a report of a person “waving guns at people” while driving through a rally.
“I’m a f***ing celebrity, do you know who I am? I’m Offset from Migos,” the rapper told the cops before getting handcuffed and detained.
“You told me to put my hands up, I’m not doing that. There’s 25,000 people on my livestream. You’re gonna get sued publicly.”
Following the incident, the Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed that the person allegedly responsible for waving a gun at people was actually Marcelo Almanzar, Cardi’s cousin.
“Shortly after 5PM, Beverly Hills Police received information from a passerby of a subject who pointed a weapon from a vehicle at him,” the authorities said in a statement obtained by DailyMail.com.
“The passerby provided a license plate to the vehicle, and the vehicle was stopped by patrol units a short distance away. After the on scene investigation, the passenger in the vehicle [Almanzar] was arrested.”
It is unclear if Mr. Almanzar was in the same vehicle as Offset at the time of the incident.
After the arrest, Almanzar has been charged with carrying a loaded firearm in public and carrying a concealed weapon.
As for Offset, he was eventually released by the police. No charges have reportedly been made against the rapper.
