Parents were left devastated after receiving the news that their son has only three weeks to live.
14-year-old Louie Jones from Lancashire was diagnosed with leukemia 18 months ago and underwent a range of intensive treatments.
After believing that he had already beaten the illness, they were given the devastating news that Louie’s life will end in a matter of weeks, LeedsLive reported.
His family said Louie continues to fight the illness.
His cousin, Reece Jones, said: “They have tried every treatment and even Great Ormond Street [Hospital] had a look to do a T-Cell transplant but this proved a no go. “We’ve been left in the situation we are in where he only has a few weeks left.
“They are at this moment giving him chemotherapy to control the leukaemia and to give a bit of time to enjoy his life.”
Reece, 25, continued: “Louie has taken everything on board and followed everything to a T, done exactly what has been asked of him and never complained.
“He has and still is being ultra brave and keeps fighting. And to this end we burst with pride everyday.”
The 14-year-old, who loves science and adores Leeds United, is currently receiving treatment at Manchester Children’s Hospital with his dad Glyn and mom Caroline by his side.
“He was hunky dory and just your average teenager but then he became ill and it turned out it was leukaemia,” Reece shared.
“He was having therapy but then things took a nosedive and now it’s coming up to two years and he’s just been told he has three weeks to live.
“He is an absolute gem and his school teachers and football coaches all love him. He’s very polite, well spoken and he wouldn’t say boo to a goose.
“He made friends everywhere he went and he was a young man who was the life and soul of the party and now he has just three weeks left.”
Reece set up a GoFundMe page to help his cousin live his last weeks like a normal teenager.
