A woman was caught on camera slapping her boyfriend across the head after he bent the knee to propose to her.
The bizarre moment took place at a Disneyland where Gracie O’Neill and her boyfriend were posing for sweet couple photos.
As seen in the video shared by Gracie on her TikTok profile, her boyfriend took the knee in order to propose to her only to get smacked in return.
“No, this time I’m actually not kidding,” the boyfriend is heard saying after his girlfriend swats him across the face.
As it turns out, Gracie’s unusual reaction to the proposal was because she thought she was being pranked by her boyfriend who previously faked proposals on numerous occasions.
“In my defense I thought he was trolling me,” she captioned her video.
After the video went viral and racked up over 6 million views, amused viewers suggested the incident made the proposal even more special and memorable.
“Not gonna lie, I think this makes the moment even better,” one person wrote before another added: “Totally, it’s priceless.”
“I got engaged at the same spot and I told him ‘I knew this gonna happen’ so don’t worry I messed up too,” another user wrote.
One person said: “I like how he knew he had to clarify lol. But it’s a funny engagement video to show though.”
As Gracie went on to explain in another video, she reacted in such a way because her boyfriend fake-proposed to her “way too many times to count.”
“He had trolled me so many times. But on this particular day, when he proposed, earlier this morning we were with his whole family taking pictures and he got down on one knee and trolled me again,” Gracie explained.
“I was kind of uncomfortable at this point because I really wanted to be engaged and get married and we didn’t really agree on it.
“So the fact he kept trolling me in front of his family just really bothered me. So after when he asked me ‘are you okay, what’s going on?’ And I said ‘I just don’t know how to react when you keep doing this in front of your family because you know how important it is for me that we get engaged.’
“And he said ‘I totally get it, I’m so sorry, next time I won’t be joking and I won’t mess around with you anymore.’ And I said ‘Oh my gosh, thank you,’ so when he got down on one knee obviously I thought it was a joke and it wasn’t.”
Congratulations to the couple!
