A young boy who was wearing nothing but his underwear disappeared from his home in the middle of the night as he wanted to find the festive Coca-Cola truck he saw in a commercial.
5-year-old Artyom from Russia left his home and ventured out in freezing temperatures to search for the Christmas-inspired truck all alone.
For hours, the little boy was exposed to harsh temperatures as he wandered around in search of the truck. Eventually, he was found shaking by the police at a bus stop.
In surveillance footage, the 5-year-old was seen walking out of his home as he embarked on a mission to find Santa and his Coca-Cola truck.
According to the police, the young boy was extremely upset after failing to find the bright festive truck while strolling around Moscow. “I wanted to see it, I wanted to see it,” he reportedly told the cops.
“The child gave only the names of the parents, but could not explain the address of his block,” Life reported.
“The boy was taken to the police station, and later sent to the hospital as a neglected person.”
Following the incident, the child’s adoptive mother, 35-year-old Maria Gotovtseva, said: “On the evening before he kept repeating all the time about a decorated train from the TV advert – and how he wants to see it and go on it.”
According to the latest updates, Artyom remains in hospital and is expected to recover after being exposed to freezing temperatures for a prolonged time.
Meanwhile, the parents are facing a check by social services to determine whether neglect played a role in the 5-year-old’s near-death experience.
