Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed the gender of their second child during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke and Duchess said they are preparing to welcome a baby girl who is due to be born this summer.
Meghan, 39, was joined by her husband, 36-year-old Harry, for the bombshell interview on CBS, and they excitedly revealed: “It’s a girl!”
Speaking about his first thought when he discovered that they were having a girl, Harry said: “Just grateful. To have any child, any one or any two, would have been amazing.
“But to have a boy and then a girl, I mean what more can you ask for? Now we’ve got our family, we got the four of us and our two dogs.”
When asked if they were ‘done’ with two children, the duke said “done” and the duchess answered: “Two is it.”
It was on Valentine’s Day when the couple announced that they were expecting another child. They posted a black and white photo which showed Meghan resting on the ground with her head on Harry’s lap as they beamed with delight.
The photo, which was taken by photographer Misan Harriman, was believed to have been shot in Montecito, California.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes said at that time: “’We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
Their wonderful news come after Meghan suffered a devastating miscarriage last year.
Mr. Harriman said in February that being asked to take the photo felt emotional after Meghan’s miscarriage.
“To be asked to help share this absolute joy after such an unimaginable loss and heartache is a marker of true friendship.
“Meg reminded me that had I not introduced her to a mutual friend then she wouldn’t have met Harry. I’m grateful for whatever small part I played.”
