The Biden administration is now asking for “volunteers” founded in other federal agencies alongside border officials in order to alleviate the aftermath of illegal border crossing.
A Democrat in Congress releases photos to the press to show what’s been going on in recent news.
Fox News states that the federal office has been asking many agencies based in the government to allow ‘volunteer deployments’ at the border of up to 120 days. The Biden administration, by the side of border officials, have been hit with an overwhelming amount of minors being stuck in living quarters that are not up to par. The government has been trying their best to keep it under control but cannot process them in time.
As of Thursday, there are numbers of more than 16,000 children that are not accompanied and are in government custody– 5,000 are in substandard Customs and Border Protection facilities.
The president’s administration and immigrants are struggling to cope, hoping that the Office of Personnel Management brings in volunteers can help assist with them. They tell sources, “We are actively working to screen, process and deploy these volunteers while continuing our recruitment efforts and exploration of other avenues to bolster staff resources at the border.”
Government officials are restricting the press from passing through their facilities, due to overcrowded holding and a departure from policy that was under the former presidents’ administration.
Despite restrictions, there were still pictures that had been leaked to the public, and Cuellar says that single adults that are at the border are being expelled, leading to minors and adults with children to be allowed to remain in the United States.
As of now, there are migrant families that have been crossing through rivers in order to hit American land, an increase of people being detained by border patrol agents that are on duty there.
Senator Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, calls on President Biden to “urge you to stop denying reality, confront the consequences of your policies to these facilities.”
Republicans are on top of blaming the Biden administration for actions that lead people from Central America to find an entrance into the United States.
Republican Senator Carolina tells sources that “It’s not a crisis, it’s a complete loss of sovereignty down there.”
Authorities have already encountered more than 100,000 migrants on the southern border back in February, much higher than it was back in 2019.
Another government official comments on the problem, saying that the surge was not related in turn of Biden’s new policies on the border.
“They’re not the result of one administration’s policies.. They’re the result of people fleeing poverty,” Kate Bedingfield tells sources.
