A celebrity agent who knows Meghan Markle has claimed that Prince Harry is ‘trying to keep up’ with his ‘incredibly impressive’ wife.

Only weeks after their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke of Sussex announced that he has joined Silicon Valley startup BetterUp as chief impact officer.

Celebrity agent Jonathan Shalit told The Telegraph that the 36-year-old duke may have taken up the position to keep up with his ‘very bright’ wife.

“So for Harry to keep up with his wife, he’s got to find his own name and identity and this is the start,” Shalit said.

“He doesn’t need celebrity. When you’re Royal, you’re the biggest celebrity in the world. But what this does is allow Harry to have relevance.”

Prince Harry will be a ‘chief impact officer’ at BetterUp, which provides coaching and mental health services to clients online.

Experts revealed that Harry could be working in the US on a visa designed for people with ‘extraordinary ability.’

Australian actor Hugh Jackman and Canadian singer Justin Bieber have also used the O-1 visa which has up to three years of validity.

Harry has now two jobs and radio and TV projects in the US.

This prompted many to question how he got a visa as the O-1 visa website says it is designed for “an individual who possesses extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics or who has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognised nationally or internationally.”

A royal expert claimed palace officials will be watching the duke’s new roles “very, very closely” to see if they go against the agreement with The Queen that he wouldn’t trade off his Royal status.
