President Biden nearly slipped again as he stumbled on the way up the stairs of Air Force One.
The incident took place as Biden was boarding the aircraft while on his way to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to pursue his $2 trillion infrastructure plan.
While ascending the stairs of Air Force One during heavy rainfall, the 46th US President nearly fell as he stumbled after missing a step.
Fortunately, Biden managed to reach the top without a major gaffe despite holding a suitcase in one hand and an umbrella in the other.
This is not the worst of times when it comes to Biden’s time on the stairs of Air Force One. On Friday, March 19, the president slipped and fell twice while attempting to reach the aircraft.
Following the unfortunate falls, some people were quick to question the 78-year-old’s wellbeing while others couldn’t resist making mock videos and memes of the incident.
After the gaffe, the White House was quick to blame strong winds for the fall even though some reports suggested the wind was mild in the area that day.
“It’s pretty windy outside. It’s very windy. I almost fell coming up the steps myself. He is doing 100 percent,” White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre claimed.
Later on, however, White House press secretary Jen Psaki appeared to change the narrative saying “tricky” Air Force One steps were to blame for the fall.
“I don’t know if you’ve been up those steps, they’re a little tricky sometimes,” she insisted as she reassured the reporters that the president is doing fine.
