Another Hollywood actor has spoken out in Meghan Markle’s defense as he called on the Royal Family to back off and apologize.
51-year-old D.B. Woodside, who appeared alongside Meghan in Suits, insisted that the British royals messed with the wrong woman as they chose to pick on “resilient” and “strong” Duchess of Sussex.
According to the actor, the Royal Family should apologize to Meghan after the 39-year-old said she was left feeling suicidal with no help from the Royal Family during her time in the Palace.
As Meghan insisted in her bombshell interview with Oprah, her calls for treatment were turned down despite her mental health struggles amid her life in the Palace.
“Listen, the thing about her is she is strong and she is resilient,” Woodside said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“If they think that this kind of stuff is going to knock her off her game for very long, they picked the wrong woman to mess with.”
He added: “She is the wrong woman to mess with, they need to back up … and apologize because she is not the one. She is not the one.”
In his interview, the actor, who played Jeff Malone in Suits, praised the Duchess of Sussex for opening about her struggles in the UK and daring to stand up to the monarchy.
He also recalled the time Meghan started dating Harry and revealed the actress kept her private life to herself.
“I did not know at that time. She kept that tight, tight, tight, tight, which I completely understand. My God. But now I think back on that time, I’m like, ‘She was dating him then!’ Like, ‘Aha.’ But that’s great,” he added.
Calling Meghan “one of the sweetest, nicest, most intelligent, thoughtful human beings” he has ever met, Woodside told ET that what happened to his colleague makes him “really, really angry.”
