Home security footage has been released from Ma’Khia Bryant’s military veteran neighbor.
After reviewing the video, he says that the police officer who shot Bryant, Nicholas Reardon, had no choice but to shoot the young girl because more people could have been fatally injured or even killed if he did not act upon it.
Military veteran neighbor, Donavon Brinson, tells Fox News that Bryant could have stabbed the other woman involved if the cop had not shot at them the day of the incident.
He says “He could have either not fired and the young lady in pink could have been stabbed in the neck or brutally or fatally injured and then he could shot [Bryant] and we could have had two dead – or he could have responded in the way that he did and one young lady lost her life.”
The footage that has been released gives a new angle of what had happened, and the neighbor comments that Bryant was in “full attack mode” and a “young lady’s life was at stake.”
After reviewing, it appears that Bryant appears to be charging at the other lady with a knife, and the shooting that occurred was captured on police body camera footage, already released to the public.
According to the body cam footage, Bryant is seen with the knife as she charges at two other women. This is when the cop decides to open fire, killing the young girl and sparking demonstrations due to police brutality and systematic racism that has been increasing throughout the entire nation.
The neighbor comments that Reardon was put in a “bad spot” and had to respond with his “best judgement.”
Sources are unable to identify the motive for Bryant to charge at the women, or what the story is lying underneath the whole situation. Brinson, Bryant’s neighbor, tells sources that he had witnessed the scene while driving up to his driveway, thinking it was “just a girl fight” at the time because they were calling each other the b-word.
In light of the incident, there have been three body cameras released from the moment of the scene. Bryant is allegedly trying to stab as she gets off of the ground. Reardon fires four shots, and in the background a man yells, “You shot my baby!”
Reardon responds in defense, “She had a knife. She just went at her,” which results in the man saying, “She’s a f**king kid, man. Are you stupid?”
They were unable to save Bryant, being proclaimed dead around 5:21 pm even after being rushed to Mount Carmel East Hospital.
