Greg Ganforte, Governor of the state of Montana, advocates and signs for a new law that will reinforce the right of the second amendment to the people.
It restricts the local and even state police for enforcing bans on their guns, ammunitions, magazines, and so forth.
Ever since the president has had plans for a gun reform, the governor has also been outspoken on his opinions and clear about what actions he’ll take for the state.
He tells his audience on social media platform Twitter, that he “proudly signed Rep. Hinkle’s law prohibiting federal overreach into our Second Amendment- protected rights, including any federal ban on firearms. I will always protect our #2A right to keep and bear arms.”
The president has recently revealed his plans on how he would reform guns and its uses after a mass amount of shootings have been displayed throughout the nation. He has planned to take executive action while addressing the gun violence that has been heavily active.
He states that there will be a breakdown for “ghost guns,” guns that are homemade so they are not in the system, alongside the ban of assault weapons.
There are states and representatives that are against this ban, this includes Majorie Taylor Greene, Representative of Georgie who poses with an AK-47 and tweeting to her social media platform.
She says that “The right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT be infringed!”
Other representatives follow along and post pictures of themselves with their guns, with similar comments such as “get ready to fight the Biden executive orders on gun control all the way! I’ll be doing my part from the House! Let’s ensure we stop this tyrant.”
Another governor Doug Ducey, signed a law earlier this month that is similar to the one the Montana governor has signed. In Oklahoma, there is a law going for Governor Kevin Stitt’s desk that would designate its state as a Second Amendment “Sanctuary State.”
In the most recent weeks, there have been cases rising that have to deal with gun violence. There has been at least 150 mass shootings so far, hence the orders the President is trying to execute throughout the nation.
The White House has been emphasizing the reform for guns is necessary, taking legislative action on guns. They are doing background checks, but gun control measures between the two parties are on the edge and cannot find a compromise, most Republicans are against most proposals.
Congress is no where close to approving what Biden is pushing for: a ban on assault weapons and universal background checks.
