The Queen returned to work with a smile on her face since her beloved Prince Philip’s funeral.
Dressed in a light blue floral dress, the 95-year-old monarch was seen via video link from Windsor Castle as she welcomed dignitaries to Buckingham Palace.
She held a virtual audience to receive Her Excellency Sara Affoue Amani, the Ambassador of Cote d’Ivoire, and Her Excellency Ivita Burmistre, the ambassador of Latvia.
This comes ten days after the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away at the age of 99.
Even though this is the first time the Queen has been pictured working since the funeral of her husband, this is not the first time she has returned to work since he died.
Only four days after Prince Philip’s death, the Queen went back to her royal duties. Earlier this month, she bid farewell to Earl Peel – a key royal aid who retired after 14 years of service.
In her second engagement since her husband’s death, she welcomed the new Lord Chamberlain to his post.
In her most recent appearance, the Queen was no longer wearing a black mourning outfit. She was dressed in a light blue flower dress that featured yellow, white, and purple flowers, adorned by a three-string pearl necklace.
Her Majesty just turned 95 years old 12 days after the duke passed away. She said that her family were in a ‘period of great sadness’ but were comforted by heartwarming words of praise for Prince Philip.
“We have been deeply touched and continue to be reminded that Philip had such an extraordinary impact on countless people throughout his life,” the Queen said.
