Donald Trump attempted to rejoin Twitter with a new account only to find himself banned from the platform once more.
The 45th US President, who has been indefinitely banned from Twitter back in January after the MAGA mob stormed the US Capitol, has found himself in an awkward situation as he created a new Twitter account (@DJTDesk) only to get banned almost instantly.
According to the site, Trump’s new account was suspended due to a violation of Twitter rules.
The former president’s attempt to rejoin Twitter despite his existing ban comes as he launched his own communications platform, ‘From the Desk of Donald J. Trump’, on which he shares statements and updates with his followers.
On the newly-founded platform, viewers cannot upload content but they have the option of sharing Trump’s statements with their friends on Facebook and Twitter thanks to the presence of social media widgets on the site.
It is believed that this feature is one of Trump’s workarounds implemented to allow his fans to share his words on the platforms he has been banned from.
In a recent turn of events, the former president also shared his disdain for Facebook after the tech giant’s Oversight Board announced they would be upholding the ban on his Instagram and Facebook accounts.
“The Board has upheld Facebook’s decision on January 7 to suspend then-President Trump from Facebook and Instagram. Trump’s posts during the Capitol riot severely violated Facebook’s rules and encouraged and legitimized violence,” they concluded.
Following the ruling, the platform now has another half a year to determine whether Trump’s Instagram and Facebook accounts will be reactivated or permanently disabled.
Speaking of Facebook’s decision not to restore his social media accounts in a statement, angry Trump said:
“What Facebook, Twitter, and Google have done is a total disgrace and an embarrassment to our Country.
“Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before.
“The People of our Country will not stand for it! These corrupt social media companies must pay a political price, and must never again be allowed to destroy and decimate our Electoral Process.”
