A mother’s lunchbox for her 3-year-old son has sparked a debate after she posted a photo of it on social media.
Katie’s lunchbox contains healthy food and snacks. However, many parents questioned whether there was too much for a 3-year-old to finish.
The mother explained that her son is at daycare from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm so she just wants to make sure that he won’t be hungry during his stay.
The photo shows crackers with cheese, spinach, and boiled egg wrap, scream cheese, sliced apples, yogurt, strawberries, carrot, peas and corn.
“I use pink lady apples – which I find don’t discolour as long as they are sealed in an air-tight container,” Katie wrote.
“Next to the crackers in the front are salmon and potato patties.”
In another container, she packed a chocolate treat and popcorn.
Many parents commented about how healthy the lunch is but others questioned whether Katie prepared too much for her son.
“It would take me an hour to eat that much. My kid takes a sandwich and doesn’t eat it all,” one parent commented.
“Wow that’s a lot, your child won’t starve!” another wrote.
“Looks great! Lunchbox envy at daycare I’m sure,” a third said.
“His mother makes sure her son has enough to eat during the entire course of the day!! What could possibly be wrong with that?? And from the look of it….. every day would be an absolute eating adventure!! I’m sure most other children would be quite envious — THAT’S THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM HERE!!” someone else added.
“The child has a wide assortment to choose from to eat throughout the day. If it’s too much food, he’ll bring back home the remainder or share it with other kids. What’s the problem?” another wrote.
