A 30-year-old woman is being slammed as a gold-digger for marrying a man that is older than her own father.
But now, the mother is hitting back at her critics for the label because she claims she did not marry him for the sake of money. Moreover, the woman who hails from Canada reflects on her own relationship, stating how the bond she shares with her older man is based upon nothing but pure love.
30-year-old Amy has a whopping 25 year age difference with her partner. But if you think that makes much of a difference in their relationship, think again. And that’s because this couple says that age is just a number and they can’t imagine living a life that’s away from one another.
Amy who hails from Alberta in Canada says she fell for her husband named Bryan Mappes after meeting him in the year 2011 through Facebook. The duo shared similar interests in games and hence was a part of an online gaming group. They also often chatted with one another and even video called each other too.
But in a span of just one month, the mother of three says she got to know Bryan in a different context. And while the pair lived miles away from one another, with Bryan hailing from North Dakota in the US and she from Canada, their bond just kept on growing strong.
“I loved the way he cared about me, listened to my daily happenings. Within such a short span of time, roughly three months, we became friends pretty quickly and couldn’t help but chat every single day,” she explained.
During that time frame, Amy had just gotten out of a bad relationship while Bryan was present in a bad marriage. Hence, the duo began bonding pretty fast, learning more and more about each other’s lives as well.
Today, the pair says they’re madly in love.
Bryan’s kids from his previous marriage find it hard to accept his new wife as she’s younger than them but the pair says they manage to work it out. Other than that, the pair says their dynamics are splendid. A lot of people do question their age gap, stating how Amy is a gold digger and Bryan a pervert, but the couple tries not to pay attention to such things.
Instead, they’re more focused on making their marriage better with each passing day, and for them, age will always be just a number, no matter what others may believe.
