Jamie Spears’ husband, Jamie Watson, has spoken out about the Britney Spears controversy after being told that she wants nothing to do with them and that she would sue them for what they did to her.
He still says that he “wishes the best” for Britney, even after hearing the cruel words. In her 23 minute testimony given at a Los Angeles court, Spears tells the court that her family had done nothing to help her. She reveals that her father, Jamie Spears, had been abusive over her conservatorship for the past 13 years.
Watson seemed to be defending his family in the statements.
As he says, he can “assure you her family loves her and wants the best for her.
I wouldn’t be around people who weren’t.
Who wouldn’t want to be in support of Britney?” This is a very contradicting statement versus the one that Britney first made of her desperate situation. There have been accusations that the whole family had profited off of Britney’s career. In her testimony, she claims that her father would force her into services such as therapy, rehab, psychological evaluations, and started having her work against her own will. Spears’ credit card was taken away from her along with her passport and personal possessions, having to be watched 24/7.
Spears tells the court that the “control he [father] had over someone as powerful as me, as he loved the control to hurt his own daughter 100,000%. He loved it”.
She told the judge that she would “honestly like to sue my whole family, to be totally honest with you.
Not only did my family not do a goddamn thing, my dad was all for it.
Anything that happened to me had to be approved by my dad. I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them”.“I want to be able to heard on what they did to me by making me keep this in for so long, it’s not good for my heart. I’ve been so angry and I cry every day, it concerns me, I’m told I’m not allowed to expose the people who did this to me”.
It is unclear if her mother, her brothers, or her sister is included in the family being sued.
