Kelly Clarkson screamed on the set of The Voice after discovering that a judge has validated her prenup agreement in her divorce case.
The singer ‘let out a scream’ of joy as she celebrated with fellow coaches Ariana Grande and Blake Shelton, TMZ reported.
According to sources, Clarkson was filming the competition when she received the good news from her lawyers.
This means that Clarkson, who is said to be worth $45 million, will be able to keep her income and assets.
In July, the singer had been ordered to pay her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock almost $200k per month in spousal and child support.
But the news outlet now reports that she will be able to keep her assets, including the Montana ranch where Blackstock is currently living.
Clarkson’s ex-husband had been contesting the prenup as he wanted to divide their properties 50/50.
But a judge reportedly agreed with Clarkson’s lawyer Laura Wasser that the signed prenuptial agreement had to be considered in their divorce case.
According to the report, the singer now has the right to sell the Montana ranch because she’s the one who bought it.
Clarkson has also been awarded primary custody of their young children, Remington, 5, and River, 7.
This comes after it was reported that the singer would pay 70 percent of her kids’ expenses and school fees but she had refused to pay for the Montana ranch.
The judge then ordered Blackstock to pay for the ranch, which costs more than $80,000 a month to run. But now it is possible that Clarkson will decide to sell it.
