Former US President Donald Trump and his allies have been reportedly sued for violating the KKK act with a ‘plot’ relating to the Capitol Riot incident that took place on January 6th.
The shocking lawsuit follows a number of other civil actions by a team of lawmakers coming from the Democratic side who reportedly risked their lives in the attack and then went on to provoke, aid, and then join a number of other defendants too.
Therefore, the Federal suit has gone on to name Trump, Roger Stone, Oath Keepers, and Proud Boys for their role in the horrifying incident.
The claims mentioned how they all violated the Ku Klux Klan Act which was initially designed to prevent all kinds of racial as well as political-themed violence.
The January 6th riot came at a time when Congress opted to meet the count for electoral votes that resulted in Joe Biden becoming the president of the US. Moreover, the lawsuit has also gone on to cite plenty of Tweets made by Donald Trump, including some election fraud claims as well as his speech conducted on the 6th of January.
Meanwhile, reports claim that Trump was acquitted in the Senate impeachment trial, right after the riot took place.
On the other hand, Donald Trump went on to defend his stance on Wednesday, where he boldly announced his long-standing principles relating to privilege. This was right after the House Committee carried out an issuance for the sweeping document in the form of requests which arose from his tenure.
A total of seven cops from Capitol accused the former US President and his associates of their behavior that incited others to resort to violence on that day.
“They provoked them towards behaving in an outrageous manner while fueling their actions through claims of fraud related to the elections too,” the officers mentioned in their statement.
