US President Joe Biden has addressed the American people after the double suicide bombing attacks in Kabul that claimed the lives of 13 US troops and at least 60 Afghanis.
According to a report from LADBible, ISIS-K has claimed responsibility for the explosions that were detonated near thousands of people at Kabul’s international airport to escape the Taliban.
President Biden has been criticized by commentators around the world for making the decision to withdraw the American troops in Afghanistan after two long decades.
Many people believed that Biden ended the campaign too early, however, the president hit back at critics and said it will not matter if the troops stayed for another twenty long years.
President Biden said that it was ultimately up to local Afghan forces to fight the Taliban if they tried to take over their country again.
However, Biden has admitted in his nationwide address on August 26, that he will shoulder some of the blame of what’s happened in Afghanistan this month.
“I bear responsibility for fundamentally all that’s happened of late,” Biden told the people. “But here’s the deal, you know as well as I do that the former president made a deal with the Taliban.”
“I know of no conflict, as a student of history, no conflict where, when a war is ended, one side was able to guarantee that everyone they wanted to be extracted in that country would get out,” Biden added.
The President also called the loss of American lives a ‘tragedy’ and has ordered American forces to strike back against the Islamic State.
“We will not forgive, we will not forget,” Biden warned. “We will hunt you down and make you pay.”
“I’ve also ordered my commanders to develop operational plans to strike ISIS key assets, leadership, and facilities,” Biden said. “We will respond with force and precision at our time at a place we choose in a moment of our choosing.”
