13-year-old Olivia Harrison is criticized at her school for wearing the same uniform she has been wearing for a long time because apparently, it is too distracting for staff members now.
The student of class 9 has been told by a staff member that she needs to change her trousers and socks because a small portion of skin near her ankles is on display, and is distracting for other students and teachers. Olivia is ordered to wear a replacement uniform present in the lost property.
Olivia has refused to wear a uniform found in the lost property, and for doing that, she was sent into isolation and got expelled from school for 2 days on denying to comply with the punishment. Furthermore, she will be learning alone for the next 3 days whenever she comes back to her class.
The mother of this 13-year-old girl is not happy at all. According to her, Olivia has been wearing the same trousers and socks for a long time, and nobody ever asked her to change them before.
She has bought her daughter’s uniform from Debenhams, and now the student is asked to wear to put on a uniform from the lost property.
Now she has to order more trousers for Olivia’s school as the school staff is more interested in the dressing of students rather than focusing on their education.
Since the school was taken over by The Gorse Academies Trust, many students are facing issues regarding their uniforms.
According to the school authorities, they have clear policies and high standards when it comes to the behavior of students, dress code, and classroom rules. They will not apologize for asking the 13-year-old student to change her trousers.
