What is the first thought that comes to your mind when we say, grandparents?
Well, we certainly hope it’s not old age because one couple from the United Kindom is getting the title for being the youngest grandparents and their story is intriguing beyond belief.
Think along the lines of having grandchildren when you’re in your early thirties! Yikes, most people don’t even get married by that age.
But Jenni Medlam and her husband Richard are just 34 and 35 years old. However, they’re madly in love and have also recently been bestowed with the huge blessing of grandchildren. In case you’re wondering how and why that could be possible, well, we’ve got news for you!
This couple says that their daughter Charmaine is just 16 but she just gave birth to a baby girl named Isla in May of this year.
While the couple couldn’t be happier, it certainly wouldn’t be wrong to say that many are skeptical about their parenting.
And that’s because their kids are just too young to be having babies. Similarly, people are super shocked when they find out their grandchild is actually not theirs, it’s their daughter’s. How’s that for an awkward affair?
Jenni says she wasn’t too lucky in love at first because she gave birth to her daughter when she was just 17. While her relationship with her ex-partner didn’t work out, she didn’t lose hope in terms of finding love.
After meeting Richard, she knew he was the one she wanted to be with for the rest of her life. The couple got married and when they found out Jenni’s daughter was expecting at such a young age, they understood as Jenni had been through something similar.
They supported her as much as possible and today, they’re renowned as the UK’s youngest grandparents.
