Queen Elizabeth II, 95, is reported to be coming to terms with the idea that she won’t be around forever, a royal biographer claims.

In one of her most personal speeches to date, the 95-year-old oldest and longest-serving monarch paid a heartwarming tribute to her son, Prince Charles, 72, and grandson Prince William, 39, during a recorded video message that was played at the COP26 eco-summit yesterday in Glasgow.

The Queen can be seen in the video sitting next to a photo of the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, wherein she told the summit attendees that no one will live forever.

According to Metro UK, the Queen was supposed to host the world leaders at the climate summit, which began on Sunday.

However, she was forced to cancel her long-awaited trip to Glasgow after the doctors ordered her to rest for two weeks.

Following her doctors’ advice, Queen Elizabeth took a step back and carried on her royal duties over video.

“For more than 70 years, I have been lucky to meet and to know many of the world’s great leaders,” the Queen said during her highly-anticipated speech at the COP26. “And I have perhaps come to understand a little about what made them special.”

The Queen wore a green outfit with a noticeable butterfly brooch pinned to her chest.

The brooch was known to be a present from the Dowager Countess of Onslow at her wedding to the late Prince Philip back in 1947, which was rarely been worn in public appearances, Metro UK reported.

Just recently, Royal biographer Angela Levin claimed that the butterfly is supposed to “give a message from the deceased that they are ok and just living in another realm”.

“Perhaps she’s telling us she’s coming to terms with the fact she won’t be around forever,” Levin said. “She’s a spiritual and religious woman.”

“Perhaps she’s prepared to go on in her role,” Levin added. “But recognizes that she’s getting older.”

The royal biographer said that it is something that the 95-year-old Queen “wasn’t doing just weeks ago” when she gave a humorous response when asked to claim the Oldie of the Year Award.

Reports said that the monarch said that she “doesn’t meet the relevant criteria” and jokingly said that “you are as old as you feel”.
