In Singapore, a nanny spiked a 13-month-old baby girl’s milk with a muscle relaxant so she can rest well.

On December 5 last year, a nanny has been arrested for feeding Anarex to a 13-month-old child through a formula bottle.

The nanny, 32, from Indonesia, and the baby cannot be named due to a gag order.

According to a Yahoo news report, the 32-year-old wanted to have a good night’s rest, undisturbed.

And now, the nanny has been sentenced to six months in prison after she admitted to one count of causing hurt by poison.

Fortunately, the baby did not suffer any serious and permanent ill effects.

Reports said that the Indonesian nanny was employed to care for the baby and do household chores. She had worked for the baby’s 33-year-old mom for about 14 months without complaint before the spiking incident happened.

Before the incident happened last year, the nanny was dead tired from looking after the baby, but did not tell her employer, reports said.

One of the nanny’s jobs is to feed the baby with milk, but that night, she not just retrieved a formula bottle already filled with 100ml of milk, but she also mixed an Anarex tablet in it.

The nanny said that she had consumed the muscle relaxant on previous occasions, adding that she knew that Anarex caused drowsiness.

Earlier that evening, the nanny had already planned to give Anarex to the baby girl so that she would sleep through the night.

The nanny then brought the baby to the master bedroom, where she placed the Anarex tablet inside the milk bottle.

Reports said that the baby consumed about 90ml of the spiked milk and fell asleep after 20 minutes. The nanny then placed the child in the crib and went to the kitchen to wash the formula bottle.

Before the nanny could completely clean the milk bottle, a niece of the baby’s mother spotted something blue and white residue in the milk and immediately alerted the mother.

The mother confronted the nanny about what the tablet was, and she initially claimed she did not know what it was as she was scared at the time.

The 33-year-old mother then tasted the milk and confronted the nanny, who finally admitted to spiking the milk. She apologized but her employer called the police and reported the incident.

The 13-month-old victim was brought to the hospital the following day but was discharged later on in a stable condition, Yahoo news reported.
