Former US President Donald Trump is awarded a 9th Dan Black belt, the highest level attainable by martial artists, and he pledged to wear his full martial arts suits in US Congress if he returns to the White House.
Lee Dong-seop, the president of Kukkiwon – also known as World Taekwondo Headquarters – visited Trump at his Florida home and gave him the honorary black belt.
“I heard that the Donald Trump is highly interested in taekwondo,” he said.
Trump promised that he would wear the taekwondo clothing in Congress if he makes it back to the White House.
“It is my pleasure and honor to receive this honorary certificate. Taekwondo is a great martial art for protecting oneself in these times,” he said.
Many photos could be seen on the wall of his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida, including one of him shaking hands with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. According to reports, the photo was taken in June 2019 at Panmunjom when they met at the border in the Demilitarized zone.
The former President recently congratulated Kyle Rittenhouse after the teen was found not guilty on all charges.
In a statement shared by his spokesperson, Trump said: “Congratulations to Kyle Rittenhouse for being found INNOCENT of all charges.
“It’s called being found NOT GUILTY – And by the way, if that’s not self defense, nothing is!”
Praising the jury’s verdicts, he said: “I think that it was a great decision.
I was surprised it had to go this far.Somebody should have ended it earlier.
Frankly, the case should have never been brought. It was prosecutorial misconduct, in my opinion, and is plenty of it going on in this country right now? That was disgraceful. ”The verdict was also celebrated by other Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Madison Cawthorn, Matt Gaetz, and Paul Gosar.
