When it comes to naming children, it can truly be a tricky affair and this next real-life incident is leaving one office worker more than confused.
Without a doubt, parents tend to overthink their children’s names. Everyone wishes to have a name that’s easy, unique and carries special significance in terms of meaning or family tradition. But wait, what if we told you that woman is defying all the odds and that means naming her twins with names that others would term ridiculous.
Yes, one office worker was left beyond baffled after her colleague revealed the names that she had given her twins.
Referring to the names as ridiculous, the office worker tried to convince the mother that names are truly very important in a person’s life and if she doesn’t end up thinking about the matter, she could potentially be ruining their lives forever.
But the mother refused to listen to anyone and felt that their names are perfect as they should be.
And that’s when the male office worker felt that he had enough and for that reason, took the matter online to Reddit to not only share his story but also to ask others for their opinion on the matter.
“My colleague has given both of her twins the same name and she’s okay with that. But I keep telling her that it’s a huge mistake and it’s the kids that will suffer in the future,” he began to explain.
“The name she has allotted to each child is Sean and I cannot believe she is not listening to me or others about how that’s not the right decision. She feels that by changing the spelling a little, they’re two different names that are pronounced the exact same way,” his rant continued.
So that means one is Sean and the other is Seen and since one has an A and the other has an E, it makes it different.
As a whole, the type of responses that started to come in was as expected. Many felt that it was beyond idiotic to name children like that. Similarly, they also praised the office worker for doing more than enough convincing and it was the parents’ decision in the end.
Do you agree with the name choice allotted? Would advice would you give the parents? Let us know and be sure to SHARE the story with others too.
