Jennifer Lawrence has revealed how Johan Hill makes it really hard for everyone to film their latest Netflix hit movie, Don’t Lookup.
Jennifer Shrader Lawrence, 31, is an American actress. She was the world’s highest-paid actress in 2015 and 2016, with her films grossing over $6 billion worldwide to date. She appeared in Time’s 100 most influential people in the world list in 2013 and in the Forbes Celebrity 100 list from 2013 to 2016.
She is part of the highly anticipated film “Don’t Look Up”, Netflix’s Christmas gift to the world starring Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Timothee Chalamet, and Ariana Grande.
Lawrence opens up about the process of filming the dark comedy in which she and Hill star alongside others. Lawrence, who plays astronomer Kate Dibiasky explained how Hill’s character, Jason Orlean, is “the worst” and how it was really hard to not “ruin” every take when filming with him.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence noted how Hill’s character is not only a president son but also the Chief-Of-Staff, which some might think is nepotism.
The actress said: “He is the worst. It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing. We one-time dedicated an entire day to him just improving insults at me. It was amazing. I mean, he’s just a comedic master.”
She shared that there was a part in the movie where a lot of Hill’s lines were unscripted, and how he and Streep were the only ones who should do that kind of improv, despite all of the cast getting involved.
The 31-year-old admitted that while Hill was hurling insults at her, she happened to enjoy it. Don’t Look Up sees Streep taking on the role of the President of the United States, with Hill playing both her son and political aide.
When Lawrence was asked what is the biggest thing viewers should take away from the movie, she replied: “To stop handling information the way that we do now, where there’s like the truth and science and then politics, or you know personal feeling involved.”
“You know we should all just be on the same page, you know, taking care of our planet, and taking care of mankind. World peace would be my hope,” she added.
The film follows Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer as astronomers who are desperately trying to warn not only the United States government but also civilians that a ‘planet killing’ comet is heading toward earth.
The cast also includes Cate Blanchett, Kid Cudi, Tyler Perry, Chris Evans, and Timothee Chalamet in the disaster film with a twist of dark comedy. The film from director Adam McKay was released in theaters on December 10 and on Netflix’s streaming service on December 24.
