Ukraine’s military musicians could be seen trying to lift up spirits recently as they were filmed playing tunes like ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ as the country remains on high alert.
The footage was a breath of fresh air for so many to see in these testing times of war as the Navy band members could be seen giving it their all while providing a little source of comfort and entertainment for the ears.
The video was filmed in Odesa while band members were surrounded by Ukraine’s armed forces and sandbags as they try to prevent a major Russian attack.
At the moment, the country is on high alert as they fear that one of the biggest attacks by Russia could take them by surprise at any moment in time.
The footage was a clear summation of how determined the nation was as a whole, despite suffering numerous casualties on the civilian front.
The filming took place right in front of Odesa’s National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet which remained heavily guarded against all sides.
“We refused to surrender Odesa to Hitler in the past and we will not surrender Odesa to anyone else”- the guards could be heard mentioning boldly.
This is known to be the first musical performance ever since the Ukrainian crisis began and had reportedly taken place upon the request made by one local company as it sought to celebrate a holiday.
The men taking part in the impromptu musical performance were all navy musicians dressed in their uniform as they even put up a rendition of their country’s national anthem to again boost the morale during the country’s struggle for its land.
In the end, the men in uniform also sent out glad tidings and prayers for Ukraine’s President, wishing him great health and strength so he could continue to protect them all.
