One mother has given birth to her first baby in Ukraine’s underground shelter hospital.
Over the past 30 days, there have been more than 2 million refugees who were left with no choice but to flee Ukraine after facing an attack from Russia from all sides.
However, there are still so many brave individuals who managed to stay back and prove to the world that they were destined to live and die in their nation, and for that reason, they fail to leave despite the imminent threat of Russian war at peak.
One such citizen from Ukraine is a woman who despite being in her final days of pregnancy, opted to stay back and deal with the war crisis.
32-year-old Viktoria recently described her entire life story in-depth and many couldn’t help but praise her for putting on such an incredibly brave face.
After spending nearly 30 minutes in line to get gas, the couple was on their way to Kyiv when all of a sudden, her water broke. And that meant labor was near.
Worried and panicked as ever, the couple managed to make it to an underground shelter hospital and that is where she gave birth.
“There was no medical equipment or technology. I just saw a gynecological chair and became frightened. But I was left with no choice and just put all faith and trust in my doctor”- the mother explained.
While Viktoria says she had always managed her first delivery to be gentle and calming, it was nothing like that. But after seeing her baby’s jet black hair appear and the sound of his cries filling the air, she knew that this was nothing less than a miracle.
“My husband cut his cord and I held him for the first time in my hands. I told him that he was lucky and unique”- the mother explained as she boldly claims that sticking by her decision to stay in Ukraine until the end is the best decision she could have ever made.
