Actress Emma Watson was recently slammed for throwing shade on JK Rowling while presenting an award at the BAFTAs recently.
The actress was called out when she opted to make a comment that comprised of: “I’m here for all the witches”- while many people consider being a desperate attempt to please all of her trans fans.
But the incident didn’t go down too well with plenty of viewers who referred to the actress as a desperate young woman that was beyond awful to stoop this low.
The comment was an outspoken ‘dig’ that was in a clear reference to JK Rowling’s current stance over transgender issues.
Twitter was filled with users appearing online to bash the actress for having the audacity to criticize the author. Some even went as far as mentioning how Watson was the perfect example of a ‘woke brat that would always remain ungrateful’.
The 31-year-old celeb, who is best renowned for her famous role in Rowling’s film adaptations, made the comment as she stated to introduce an award for the star-studded ceremony that was held last night at the Royal Albert Hall.
But it certainly looked like a twisted moment of humor gone horribly wrong as many said that she’s far from being a feminist and deserved to be called a witch herself.
JK Rowling was slammed after she recently criticized Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer, where she added that trans women are women.
While some did appear to cheer for the actress in the audience, the bashing began with a bang on social media and didn’t stop.
Another commenter thanked JK Rowling for plucking the ungrateful and fiery actress from obscurity a few years ago as he felt that she had zero acting talent, other than looking down at her nose.
