A young Ukrainian girl was recently caught beaming with delight as she entered the Polish border on her eighth birthday.

 

Volunteers were quick to sing her Happy Birthday with great cheer and enthusiasm but little did they know that it would light up her smile in more ways than one. 

It was a heartwarming moment that she was clearly not expecting as she looked startled for a minute and then began to smile after realizing the thoughtful gesture being made by so many strangers whom she had seen for the first time in her life. 

With the ongoing war taking place in her homeland, a birthday is the last thing on any refugee’s mind and that’s exactly why it makes the moment worthwhile for her. 

The girl was identified as Camilia who smiled brightly as she was serenaded by so many around her. 

Ever since the video’s release on social media, it has gained viral fame and has been viewed by thousands around the globe. 

The fact that the video comes at a time when the Russian invasion has entered into its third week makes it all the more worthwhile. 

Despite coming from a negative and horrifying scene of events in Ukraine, the young girl appeared to be in a good mood as loud chants of ‘Hip Hip Hooray!’ filled the air, moments after the birthday singing stopped.

The girl can then be seen hugging one man wearing a high-visibility jacket.

Right around all of those singing, boxes filled with clothing items and plenty of tents could also be seen, clearing showing how Poland is trying to cope with the unlimited influx of Ukrainian refugees who have fled their nation due to the ongoing war.
