Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly urged Russian President Vladimir Putin for an urgent meeting.
Zelensky called out the Russian leader for his illegal invasion and said that the time had come for both men to sit down and have a conversation.
In the same way, the President was quick to mention how Russians would require several generations to get over the war crimes that he had committed.
The Ukrainian President could be seen addressing his neighbor via a video link address, right outside his Presidential office on Friday.
Moreover, that is also where he accused Russian President Putin of carrying out a humanitarian catastrophe deliberately while pressuring his capital city of Kyiv to withdraw and fall into the hands of Russian forces.
The war has already entered its fourth week but Russia’s army has failed at capturing the capital which appeared to be their target since day one of the Ukrainian invasion.
Zelensky appealed to Putin that carryout a direct conversation as he felt the time was right.
“We have always put due emphasis upon negotiations and I believe the time has come to do just that. We have always stressed upon solving things out through dialogue and even made efforts to offer so many solutions for peace” the Ukrainian leader continued.
“I would like to take out this opportunity so everyone around me can hear me out, especially those seated in Moscow. The time is right for a meeting and it’s the time to talk. We need to restore our territorial integrity and ask for justice for Ukraine”- he continued.
In the end, the President concluded that if Putin didn’t resort to dialogue, it would be against his favor as the Russians would soon incur so many losses that would require several generations to recover over them.
