So many Russian tourists have been left in a state of despair after Mastercard and Visa decided to temporarily suspend their operations in Russia.
Most of the tourists who had traveled abroad to spend vacations in Bali or perhaps engage in a business trip are now complaining as Russia feels the heat of more and more sanctions from the West.
So many of the tourists began to complain about how they were left in a broke state after they couldn’t withdraw any money from their ATM accounts due to the service being blocked back home.
Moreover, the fact that so many international payment systems have also cut their ties with the country’s banks means further trouble as citizens are left in a state of absolute turmoil as the country’s economy is already in shambles.
A recent report by Reuters revealed how this has left so many Russian travelers stranded in Bali, Indonesia.
One young tourist shared his experience and how he has not been given access to his account for days now.
“This has created such a worrisome problem for so many of us. We are completely stripped off of all of our finances. It’s like all of our accounts have been frozen and we cannot use any of our funds while being present in a foreign country”- the Russian tourist explained.
Moreover, many tourists are now trying to seek a job while present in a foreign country as that may be the only way out as the West continues to slap Russia with heavier sanctions.
“We can’t generate living costs by just living like this. It keeps on getting worse. We need to think fast because we are running out of time”- another tourist from Russia began to explain.
Sources claim that there are at least 1150 Russian tourists in Bali right now and a similar crisis seems to be unfolding in other foreign countries too.
