Renowned British soap legend June Brown has reportedly passed away at the age of 95.
According to local media reports, the legendary actress played a key role in everyone’s favorite soap series East Enders but that was just one of the many highlights of her career.
Reports revealed how she had actually played the leading character named Dot Cotton on the hit show for a good 35 years. However, she was never made a dame.
The news sent shockwaves and heartbreak around the country as many recalled her great contribution to the world of television and her great leading roles in so many other series.
Amongst those leading the giant wave of tributes included Adam Woodyatt who spoke about how heartbroken and devastated he became to learn about the tragic discovery. “I am simply at a loss for words for June. She was just so much fun to be with and all the actors adored being with her”- he explained.
Others referred to how she was an incredibly brave and hardworking woman who gave her 100% best in all her leading acting roles. Moreover, there were some who even went as far as mentioning how fortunate they were to have someone like her in their lives, and to be able to share the screen with someone like her was a true honor.
June Brown is hailed as the United Kingdom’s greatest soap television star she began her career more than 35 years ago with the hit series Coronation Street. This is also the time period during which she reportedly married her first husband named John Garley in 1950.
However, he passed away just 7 years later. Then again, the actress married Robert Arnold in the year 1958 and then passed away in 2003, after 45 years of matrimony and being blessed with six children.
