Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a series of excited posts about meeting his new baby boy on social media before later announcing his death.
The Manchester United star and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez documented the pregnancy on their social media accounts, posting baby scans, gender reveal, and excited messages as they prepared to meet their twins.
In October, Ronaldo shared a photo of them in bed to announce their incredible news.
“Delighted to announce we are expecting twins. Our hearts are full of love – we can’t wait to meet you,” they wrote, adding a blessed hashtag and heart and baby emojis.
Ronaldo also posted a photo of his other four children having fun in a pool as they gear up to become a family of eight.
His fans have since flooded his post’s comment section to share messages of condolences.
In December, the family shared another heartwarming moment on Instagram – the gender reveal.
Ronaldo posted a video of his four oldest children Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, twins Mateo and Ava, and Alana Martin.
The adorable clip shows the children in front of a Christmas tree. The two boys holding a black balloon while his daughters hold another. Then they popped the balloons, releasing pink and blue confetti across the room.
“Where life begins and love never ends,” Ronaldo captioned the post, adding six heart emojis and the hashtag blessed.
Two weeks ago, he shared a family photo on Instagram with Georgina’s bump on display. He wrote: “Family is everything.”
The heartbreaking statement from the couple was shared online on Monday evening. It reads: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.”
