Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in the news again and this time around, it isn’t related to their appearance at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
Royal Insiders are revealing details on why the couple chose to move away from Kensington Palace.
Moments before the major Megxit incident of 2020, Harry and Meghan made a smaller but similar decision. And while it may not have been as drastic as their choice to leave the UK for good and enter California to begin a new life, it was definitely dramatic.
Royal sources are now confirming how Meghan and Harry had a major rift with the Cambridges and that entails both Prince William and Kate Middleton. The couple felt it just was not worth it anymore to live in the Palace and hence felt it was best for them to shift to Frogmore Cottage.
“There was an incredible amount of growing sibling tension between the two brothers and the tempers were high between their wives too”- the royal source explained.
Therefore in November of 2018, the brothers felt the time had arrived to shift to Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor, while they prepared for the arrival of their little child.
“The couple lived there ever since they were engaged. The Windsor is a special space for the Queen and they were happy to still be near her while being away from Will and Kate”- he continued.
Harry and Meghan have always been very keen on making their own decisions and they’ve been doing that ever since.
While initially, the plan was for the Sussexes to move out of the cottage and into the Kennsington Palace grounds and get into a nearby apartment, things took a new direction when they ultimately bid farewell to the UK and chose the US as their final destination.
