Multiple homes were burned to the ground after a brush fire swept across the coast in Southern California.
The raging blaze, which has since been dubbed the Coastal Fire, started near a water treatment plant between Laguna Beach and Laguna Niguel just before 3 pm local time.
By 6 pm the same day, the fire had spread to 200 acres and burned at least 13 homes in the coastal region.
Evacuations in Orange County have since begun, whereas firefighters and water-dropping helicopters are still battling the raging fire fueled by strong winds.
The Ranch resort at Laguna Beach has since also been evacuated, reports say.
As of this writing, a mandatory evacuation order has been declared for residents living in Vista Court, Coronado Pointe Drive, and Via Las Rosas in Laguna Niguel.
All residents are encouraged to prepare for an evacuation in case the fire spreads to other populated areas.
At least 13 homes have so far burned in the brush fire. No deaths or injuries have yet been reported.
Those authorities have since begun accepting evacuees in need of help and shelter at the Crown Valley Community Center at 29751 Crown Valley Parkway.
A public information hotline for residents has also been set up by Orange County Emergency Operations Center and can be reached by dialing 714-628-7085.
