When you’re expecting your child, the last thing you want to happen is for your partner to leave you on your own especially when their reason to go is to party with friends.
That’s exactly what happened to one woman who also shared that her pregnancy is high risk.
The mother took to Reddit and asked people for some advice after her husband planned to go on an all-inclusive celebratory trip with his colleagues.
“My husband is planning to go on an all-expenses-paid celebratory trip with colleagues to Europe soon (and is adding a couple of days to see family). At the time of his travels, I will be 32/33 weeks pregnant with our second child,” she wrote.
“Although I really would love for him to go and have some fun, there’s several reasons why I’m not feeling good about him going on this trip.”
The mother explained that her pregnancy is high risk and she’s already taking care of their toddler. She’s also at a higher risk of developing pre-eclampsia.
The woman said that she didn’t want to tell her husband that she couldn’t go but she told him that she felt uncomfortable with him leaving.
“Am I the a***ole for making him feel bad for going on this trip? Or is he the a***ole for putting this trip over this wife and children’s wellbeing?”
Reddit users were quick to reassure the mother that she wasn’t in the wrong for wanting her husband’s support.
One person commented: “If he doesn’t reconsider this trip and stay home, I would be reconsidering the whole marriage!”
Another wrote: “If your husband is still planning on going on this trip, regardless of risk to you and baby (not to mention the toddler!), then he’s the a***ole and you need to remind him that right now, you’re the priority, not a European holiday.”
