GOP congresswoman Mayra Flores is making plenty of heads turn when she recently accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of pushing her young daughter.
The newly elected Rep was very confident with her allegations and says that she had the footage to back up her claims, leaving many in shock as to why the speaker would end up behaving in this manner for a photo op.
The incident is believed to have taken place at a swearing-in-ceremony that occurred late last week but after the video footage of the incident went viral, that’s when the newly elected congresswoman is said to have raised her voice on the alarming matter.
Flores who represents the state of Texas says the footage on social media was enough to prove to the world that her allegations were true, adding how it was unacceptable for the Speaker to simply elbow her daughter without apologizing for the behavior.
“No child should ever be pushed to the side like that. Nobody deserves to be treated in that manner, whether young or old”- the Texas Rep continued.
“This was a photo op, how dare she do something like this! It’s unacceptable PERIOD!”- she continued.
The incident was followed by the Rep mentioning how proud she was of her beautiful and young daughter for staying strong and now allowing the Speaker’s behavior to faze her out.
The video features the Speaker standing near Flores’ daughter, as she starts to wave across the family’s pastor. But then a moment arises where the speaker looks at the child, extends her elbow, and forcibly makes the child shift over.
Despite what many interview viewers may think, experts believe it’s hard to actually determine from the footage whether or not the girl moved by her own will or whether the Speaker’s arm actually contacts her, and forces her to move.
One Republican lawmaker called the incident one that reflected the Speaker’s ‘true colors’.
