Meghan Markle was forced to cancel her scheduled trips and appearances in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
The Duchess of Sussex is said to currently remain in London and it remains unclear if she will stay in the country for ten more days or travel back to the States without Harry before the Queen’s funeral.
Sources confirmed, however, that the 41-year-old, who has been very vocal and critical of the royal family in her recent interviews and podcasts, already canceled some of her planned appearances.
Among these activities are the attendance at the UN General Assembly in Manhattan and an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on September 20.
As of this writing, it remains unclear if the Duchess has already rescheduled her appearance on The Tonight Show or if it was canceled altogether.
Presumably out of respect for Prince Harry and the Queen, Meghan also postponed the release of her new Archetypes podcast episode.
“I don’t even know what she was going to talk about [with Jimmy Fallon], but that’s obviously canceled now,” an insider told Page Six.
The Queen’s passing comes amid Harry and Meghan’s trip to the UK and after their one-day visit to Germany.
Though the couple was staying at Frogmore Cottage, which is located just minutes from the Queen’s residence – Windsor Castle – and Prince William’s new home – Adelaide Cottage – the pair didn’t pay a visit to Harry’s family, meaning they didn’t see the Queen in person in the days leading to her death.
While Harry attempted to join his family at Balmoral to be by his grandmother’s side in her final moments, he reportedly landed in Scotland some half an hour after the Queen was pronounced dead.
The news comes shortly after the Palace confirmed that King Charles III will be officially crowned on Saturday at 10 am local time.
