Meghan Markle’s heartbroken dad is pleading to be reunited with his youngest daughter and allowed to see his grandchildren.
Thomas Markle, 78, was ghosted by the Duke and Duchess in 2018 after he talked to the tabloids and staged a photo shoot before his daughter’s royal wedding in the UK.
As the rift between the father and his daughter grew, Thomas suffered a heart attack and missed Meghan’s wedding. He has since also never got the chance to meet Harry or his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, in person.
Speaking on his father’s behalf, Thomas Jr., Samantha Markle’s brother and Meghan’s half-brother, expressed hopes for healing and reunification.
“We both watched clips of the Queen’s funeral together. I was overcome with emotion at how every person spectating was honored to be there and respectful,” the 56-year-old said.
Addressing Meghan directly, he added: “Dad treated you like a princess your entire life and deserves the respect.
“You didn’t call him for his heart attacks or stroke, but it’s never too late.”
Thomas Jr. also touched on the topic of his father’s recovery following a stroke as he admitted the pensioner is “not so good” on some days.
“I take him to speech therapy every week and a full recovery is on the horizon,” Thomas Jr. added.
“He’s in good spirits and he’s getting his voice back. Some days are good, some are not so good. Full recovery, we hope, is in the near future.”
Concluding his message to his half-sister, Thomas Jr. called on Meghan to “do the right thing and make amends with her father.”
“But she also has to make amends with our sister Samantha and myself. Everyone makes mistakes – it’s never too late to do the right thing,” he said.
