The Duchess of Sussex is winning hearts after she pulled out of LA gala out of respect for the late Queen, who passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle at the age of 96.
Meghan Markle had been set to attend the Variety Power of Women gala as she was named one of the women that would be honored by the publication alongside Malala and Oprah Winfrey.
According to reports, the Suits alum was also about to be featured on the magazine cover but it has been postponed following Her Majesty’s death.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan returned to the UK right after the Queen’s state funeral. They were in the UK by chance at the time of the late monarch’s passing and took part in several processions and services.
It has been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex’s Spotify podcast Archetypes would be postponed until next week even though the royal mourning has ended on Monday.
“Regularly scheduled episodes will resume Tuesday, October 4,” a message on the Archetypes Spotify page says.
It was in 2020 when Prince Harry and Meghan signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Spotify to host and produce podcasts.
Archetypes was launched this year with the aim of investigating ‘labels that try to hold women back’ through conversations between the Duchess and experts, historians, and people who have experienced being typecast.
In the first episode with special guest tennis star Serena Williams, Meghan shared how her son’s Archie narrowly escaped a fire in his bedroom during the Sussexes’ royal engagement in South Africa in 2019 and how she and her husband Harry was forced to do another engagement.
In her other two episodes, the special guests were pop singer Mariah Carey and actress Mindy Kaling.
One person commented: “Thank you Meghan.”
Another wrote: “Queen was very fond of Meghan; and its nice to see her pay her respects to the Queen is such a genuine way.”
