NFL quarterback Tom Brady has spoken out about his struggles amid his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
Shortly after the athlete’s return to the field just weeks after he announced his retirement, Bundchen confirmed that the couple has split and that they’re getting a divorce.
While Brady secured his first win for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team in four weeks on Sunday after a crucial win against Los Angeles Rams, the 45-year-old could not contain his sadness.
His troubled expression did not escape the eyes of the viewers including his 9-year-old daughter Vivian who has allegedly been his rock since his split from Gisele.
“My daughter always says, ‘Daddy, you did not have a happy face out there.’ And I’m trying!” Brady said on his Let’s Go! podcast on Monday.
“I wish I would have more awareness of what the scowl looks like, but I’m doing my best to try to get to a better place and better peace of mind out there.”
The destined Hall of Famer went on to reveal that his daughter was “very excited” about his team’s win and that she is his number one fan.
“That little girl was very excited for her dad. She is my No. 1 cheerleader, and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he added.
The reveal comes after Brady and Bundchen hired divorce lawyers and sources confirmed that they made a “painful” decision to part ways while continuing to co-parent their children.
“To end a marriage is never easy… we have grown apart,” Gisele said. “I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.”
