Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly accused Manchester United of a lack of empathy after the club officials doubted him when he returned late for a pre-season.
It is reported that the singer was going through a difficult period with his daughter’s illness and that was not easy for him and his partner.
The 37-year-old soccer superstar from Portugal and his partner then revealed that their son had died at birth on April 18 but his daughter managed to survive. And all of this really took a toll on his mental health. This is why he chose to take a break but now, he is opening up about how his team failed to show any empathy.
For the couple, this was the most ‘difficult time’ for them and the ‘greatest pain’ that they’ve ever felt in their life. There were tributes flowing from all over the world, be it sports or not. There were even tributes from the royal family, the couple adds.
“I received a personal note of condolence from the Royal Family while I was grieving”- the Sun reported. But during this whole time, Ronaldo says it’s just too hard for him to overlook the behavior of his Manchester United club for their lack of empathy.
This was particularly true with his three-month-old son being rushed to the hospital in July. And that is what caused him to return late into the season but the way they were so unforgiving toward him, despite knowing his condition really overwhelmed them.
Ronaldo says that the officials at the club had left him feeling so hurt and bad because he had explained the whole reasoning to them as to why he was late to go back. Yet, they chose to behave this way to one of their leading scorers in all matches.
