A Dunkin’ employee received a fully-furnished home from a loyal customer who learned that she and her three children had been evicted from their house.
Suzanne Burke, an avid coffee drinker, met mother-of-three Ebony Johnson three years ago at a local Dunkin’ drive-thru.
The two became close right away, having fun conversations almost every morning while she bought her cup of coffee.
So when Suzanne found out that the single mom had been evicted from their home, she immediately jumped into action!
The kindhearted woman gave Ebony the ultimate Christmas gift – a fully-furnished home for her and her children.
In an interview with WCPO, Suzanne said: “I go (to Dunkin’) every morning. Ebony has worked the drive-thru for three years and really has provided amazing customer service.
“I just wanted to see if I could help her improve her life and the life for her kids. I wanted to make sure that they had stable housing, so that she could continue to provide the excellent service she does at Dunkin’.”
Suzanne said she worked with staging designer Jo Potvin and teamed up with New Life Furniture Bank, an organization that accepts donations of furniture and other household items to make them available for free for people in need.
Executive director Dana Saxton said: “It’s as much a gift for us as it is for them, to be able to provide this for them.”
Ebony broke down in tears as she and her children walked into their new home.
“The Lord really looked out for me because I kept praying and saying, ‘Could I be at home before Christmas?’” she expressed.
Ebony’s children were also in awe as they explored their new home.
