Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke was pictured smiling from ear to ear while enjoying a day out with his wife in Los Angeles.

The 96-year-old American actor, comedian, and entertainer whose acting career spanned seven decades appeared in high spirits as he hit the gym together with wife Arlene Silver on Friday.

The cheerful appearance comes days before December 13 when the actor is set to celebrate his 97th birthday.

Outside the LA gym, the Mary Poppins star happily posed for photos in a red hoodie and grey sweatpants. Meanwhile, Arlene embraced her husband and put on a big smile before the couple kicked off their workout session at the gym.

Despite nearly being a centenarian himself, Dick remains physically active and is often spotted doing groceries and visiting his bank in Malibu.

He also remains mentally sharp and capable of driving around on his own.

Back in October, the legendary actor was spotted handing out money to homeless people and job seekers outside the Malibu Community Labor Exchange.

As Dick admitted, he visits his favorite non-profit organization every time he collects enough $5 bills to hand out to people in need of some support.

“Whenever I have some fives I come by. You can’t do it all the time, though!” he said at the time.

Dick was also spotted going around his neighborhood back in June when he greeted the reporters with a smile on his face and told them that he felt “glad to still be here.”

At the time, the former entertainer paid a visit to a local store where he bought a can of self-tanning spray.
