This is the story of a heart-touching couple who hail from Ukraine but were forced to get married without their loved ones and friends by their side in the UK.
23-year-old Maria Bilyk and 27-year-old Vitalij Melynik both tied the knot at a stunning ceremony in Buckingham Palace last month.
But what really stood out from their big day is how they chose to make the most of the moment, considering the tough and painful situation of war back home. And now that they are in the UK, they knew that they had to get married.
Thanks to an encounter with a wedding expert, the couple says they were blessed with the chance to get help with their function.
The duo’s ceremony was filled with so many empty chairs that featured images of those that mean the most to them.
Moments after the impromptu wedding took place, images of the ceremony went viral on social media and people couldn’t believe how beautiful and loving of a gesture it was. The caption included, ‘Until we meet again’ so loved ones know that they were remembered and missed and the couple can’t wait to meet them and receive their blessings too.
Family and friends just couldn’t make it and it was the bride who made the bold decision to flee her war-torn nation and be with her lover for the rest of eternity.
Right after the impromptu meeting, the duo made a few quick arrangements and that’s it. They didn’t wait long to get hitched and the simple decor and little heartfelt moments are now being cherished by others who may want to replicate something similar with their own big day.
This couple was able to continue with a long-distance relationship between the two nations since 2019 and now, they feel like their hard work has paid off as they’re living together in each other’s beautiful company.
